The blood from Shizuku’s finger suddenly acted as if it had a life of its own. It began to swirl up from her body and rise into the air, forming lines and symbols as it did. Slowly, the bloody writing hovered in the air, forming a menu of sorts in front of Shizuku.

“Oh? So this is my menu. Looks like something out of a scary movie, to be honest.” Shizuku muttered to herself, but she did wonder if her stats were high for her level, even if she was only level 1.

“Let’s see…. Blood Manipulation…. This allows me to use my own blood in many ways, from healing to solidifying them as hard as steel and creating weapons. A mental image and idea of shape and sharpness must be clear to create weapons.” Shizuku took a deep breath and then cut her wrist. Blood blood began to flow out, but Shizuku quickly stopped it using her blood manipulation skill. She then began to picture different shapes in her mind as she made the blood that had spilled out from her arm hover in front of her. It began taking on the shapes she had come up with.

When she looked at the cut she had made on her wrist, she was surprised to see that it had already healed. “A racial trait?”

Shizuku decided to figure that out later when she finally got a chance to learn more about her race. For now, she decided to try to make a dagger. She did not have too much blood to work with, so she could only make something small. She pictured the shape of a small dagger and tried to imagine its thickness and hardness.

Slowly, the blood took the shape she wanted, and in front of her was a semi-transparent blood-colored dagger. She reached up and grabbed it, too. As she did, it felt strange since the blood had hardened to the point that it was not even wet. It felt like she was holding a glass object. While she held the bloody dagger in her hand, Shizuku suddenly realized something. “I just cut my own wrist with my fingernail, and it did not hurt in the slightest. But the fact that I could even do that is a mystery in itself….”

Pursing her lips, Shizuku took a deep breath before placing the dagger against her arm. She gently ran it across her pale white skin, causing a thin line of blood to form. She had not even pressed down, but she could see that it sliced her easily without issue. She stared at her arm for a few seconds and watched as the blood that had formed at the thin slice began to suck back into the cut, and the cut itself began to visibly mend itself. “I guess it is a racial trait….”

She looked at the dagger in her hand, unsure of what to do with it. She imagined it liquefying once more, and just as she did, it turned into a ball of liquid blood again. She motioned for the blood to come towards her before sucking it into her mouth. “Hmm? Taste like chicken…”

Shizuku was not sure how she felt about this new discovery. She really did not want to know which part of a vampire’s body tasted like chicken. But this did teach her a few things. One, she could easily make weapons. Two, her fingernails were razor sharp. Three, she tasted like chicken. Four, she healed almost instantly after cutting herself. And lastly, five, she felt no pain from being cut.

“Let’s look at my other skills.” Shizuku looked at the menu that still hovered in front of her and began reading the information on Bloody Healing. “Uses one’s blood to cover the wound of an ally, slowly healing and regenerating the damaged area. Cost 10 blood. Be careful of low blood reserves as you will enter a blood frenzy state and attack anyone around you, no matter if they are friend or foe.

“I already knew that. Bloody rain costs 20 blood and creates a shower of blood that will rain down and heal allies. So basically, an area of effect heal. Not that I will have to use it any time soon, but it’s nice to have. But most importantly…. Blood Bond….” Shizuku skimmed over the details of this skill before bitting the tip of her finger again and letting it drop on the floor before saying: “Blood Bound!”

A bloody red magic circle suddenly appeared on the floor. Strands of blood shot out and stabbed into Shizuku. She let out a cry of pain as she felt as if her soul was being ripped out of her. Luckily, this pain did not last long. The magic circle slowly began to dim, and the strands of blood pulled retreated from Shizuku and returned to the magic circle before they completely disappeared.

Shizuku now felt a small connection to this room. It was as if a piece of her had been extracted and imprinted here. “Luckily, I will not have to do this too much. At least I hope anyway….” She wished she had known that it was going to be painful. At least she could have braced herself.

Sighing, Shizuku stood up. She now had an understanding of her skills. She made a mental note of her stats and withdrew the blood in the air by sucking it into her mouth and gulping it down.

“Let’s go talk to Margret…” Shizuku went to go leave the room but paused and rubbed her belly with a frown. “I am also kind of hungry again…. This might be a bit of a problem….”
