“I do not mind asking them to take a peek for me. But I am not sure how much information I can get if she entered the dungeon beforehand. But I can do what I can. A vampire running around the city is not something many can miss. I am sure I can get something.” Nora replied as she stood up. “I will head out now.”

Nora walked towards the door before pausing her steps. “Margret, you really should not imprint your daughter onto Shizuku much. You might scare her away.”

“I know…. I know…. But Shizuku is different…. I look the way I look now because of that fateful day. I can never forget what had happened. But Shizuku…. That girl… She reminds me so much of Olivia. If not for those fuckers….” Margret hit the table with her fists. Her eyes watering up.

“Sorry. I shouldn’t have said so much. I just worry. That girl will leave one day. She might even become the enemy of this kingdom or all of humankind. Will you still see her as your daughter, then?” Nora left these words before leaving.

Margret looked up at the closed door and sighed. She had no issues with becoming enemies with this kingdom or her own kind if it meant protecting Shizuku. She knew it was wrong to take so strongly to the girl, but….

Margret got up and walked over to a desk. She looked at the painting, a young girl and a young woman. The woman was slim and beautiful, and the girl matched her. They were both beauties in their own right. But who would have thought that the woman would turn into what Margret was today? “Those devils….. They took my Olivia and cursed me…”

Margret sighed before turning away from the painting. She would never let anything happen to Shizuku. “I can’t just sit around….”

Margret walked to the front to find Duglous standing there. “Margret, can I get a…. What’s wrong?”

“Shizuku went missing. She left two days ago to go to the dungeon and still has not returned.” Margret replied as she went behind the counter and grabbed a massive sword.

“Whao! Wait a moment, Marge. If you go out there with that, you will end up destroying the entire city!” Duglous was quick to run over and push the sword back down.

“Then you come with me. Stop me if I start using any of my ultimate skills.” Margret replied with a snort.

“I will go. But I think we should start with Robert Elston. He had a run in with the little lass the other day.” Duglous felt that if anyone might know anything, it would be him. That was when another person came to mind. “Also, there is that upstart Sandy. She is only a meer C rank, but she is lording over those of a lower level. And she has a hate for the Fallen. From what I know, her family was killed by a group of undead. Because of this, she has always hated the Fallen. She classifies all Fallen races under the same banner. These two are the only ones I can think of that would target the little lass at this time.”

“Then what the fuck are we waiting for!? Let’s go say hello to this Robert Elston.” Margret gripped her sword and marched out of the inn. She now has a lead.

In a back room inside the Long Beard Smithy, a large purple magic circle was glowing in front of an elf. “So it was them?”

“That is what we heard! Heard! Heard!” A purple ball of light danced around. “Don’t forget your promise! Promise! Promise!”

“Have I ever slighted your pixie race? I entered the contract with you long ago because of the deeds of those in my old kingdom. I have lived peacefully all this time, but it seems our world will soon be changing. I need you from now on to keep watch over the the vampire, Shizuku. Report back to me when suspicious people are plotting things. Anything you hear within town that could bring harm to her, let me know. As for payment….” Nora cut her wrist and spilled her eleven blood on the magic circle. She left a decent size puddle before healing her wound.

The blood sunk into the magic circle, and the purple light danced around happily. “This will do! Do! Do! We will do as you ask. Ask! Ask!”

The purple light disappeared, and the magic circle dimmed. Nora’s face was pale white as she stumbled back. “Damn it! I told you not to deal with those damn bugs anymore! Look what they do to you!”

Nora looked at her husband’s furious expression and smiled. “Shizuku went missing. There are two people we need to go see. Grey…. Will you go with me?”

“You want to go in this state!?” Grey looked at his wife in disbelief. She could hardly walk!

“Just help me. Margret will destroy the city if we do not move now.” Nora replied with a helpless smile. Grey stared hard at his wife before sighing. “Alright, let’s go. But promise me not to give those damn bugs any more of your blood. You would think they were trying to create a homunculi!”

Nora could only smile. She could not promise since she needed those pixies. They were her means of keeping an eye on her old kingdom. But luckily payment only needed to be done once. So, for now, she had no need to give more blood.
