“Six levels, not bad for this outing.” Shizuku was quite happy with both her haul and the number of levels she got. She was now level 16 but far from strong enough to really leave the city. “We will keep diving into the dungeon until we clear it; then, we will start gathering what we need to leave for a new area.”

“Do you think the church will send people after us?” Mei asked. She was very concerned about being ambushed.

“Doesn’t matter either way. If they come, they will come. There is no stopping that. We just need to move as if they will come and keep our eyes open. As long as we do not let them get the drop on us, we should be fine.” Shizuku knew this was easier said than done, but she felt they could easily escape if needed. If the holy bitch lady comes after them for real, Shizuku did wonder if she would be able to win against her. She did not know her level or her abilities. But to be a holy knight, she should not be weak in the slightest.

After going to the guild to turn in their loot, the two girls returned to the inn. They had been gone for almost a week this time but thanks to the communication stone, Margret was not going crazy like she did last time.

“How long do you plan to stick around this time?” Margret asked.

“We will take two days off before going back. I hate to say it, but the quicker I can leave the city, the better. The looks I get from the average passerby are starting to tickle a bit.” Shizuku thought she could get used to the stares, but they were growing more and more every day, and sometimes she could just feel the hate emanating from these people.

“Maybe it is for the best. It also might be time for me to go on a journey as well.” Margret sighed as she looked up at the ceiling. “I will not be following you. I need to go out and retain myself. I think it is time I begin looking for the man who cursed me. If I can kill him and regain my looks, I will come look for you.”

“Margret….” Shizuku reached out and took Margret’s hand. “Whether you look like you do now or your original self, you will be my mother of this world. So, no matter what, I will be there if you need me. So do not go off and die.”

Shizuku knew she could not stop Margret, nor would she try to. This was Margret's journey, but she did not wish to lose Margret either. So she could only hope that Margret would come looking for her first before rushing in on her own if she knew she could not win.

“Then I will be sure to look for you first if I know I might end up dying.” Margret smiled and patted Shizuku’s hand. She could tell Shizuku had come to care a lot about her. This really made her happy.

“I will give you a heads up before I leave, which won’t be until I clear the dungeon here in the city. I need to make sure I am high enough level to deal with anything outside. I only reached level 16 today. I hope to reach level 30 in the next two weeks.” Shizuku explained lightly.

“Your version of the dungeon is much different from the original, so be careful. It may end up going hundreds of floors. But I must say you are leveling really fast. You have been here for about a month and have already reached level 16. This is normally not possible. You girls need to take care of yourselves as you dive deeper and deeper.” Margret worried about this the most since Shizuku’s dungeon was much different than other dungeons.

“We always take our time and plan each battle. As long as the enemies do not sink into the floor like the turtle bastards, then we should be fine.” Shizuku really did not wish to deal with another floor where turtles were jumping out of the ground, making it hard to detect them.

“Haha! Yeah, those things almost killed me when I was younger. I remember Duglous getting hit between the legs. He went down so fast that even to this day, I never let him forget about it.” Margret’s smile widened when she thought of the old days of going out and adventuring.

“Oh? Seems like I got some dirt on him, so if he hits on you, I can casually bring it up to embarrass him.” Shizuku words made Margret blush.

“Who would hit on a woman who looks like a man trying to be a woman? Anyway, I will wait for you to leave before packing things up here. I guess I should go out and buy a few accessories. Oh, and I will need that as well…. So much to buy….” Margret seemed to be lost in her own little world, but Shizuku saw that Margret was very excited. A new adventure awaited her where it would lead was up to fate. But Shizuku knew when the day came that they had to part ways that, they would definitely meet again.
