"Yosh! This should do it!" Lexy looked at the barricade that was nothing but stacked up old wooden furniture and boards with pride.

"Lexy, don't worry about me. Just be careful with pulling. Don't get swarmed" Megalim knew they did not need to go all out like this, but Lexy was still checking to make sure nothing would move even if it was pushed on hard.

"Alright, I will head out then." Lexy smiled as she hopped over the barricade, hugged Megalim, and gave her a peck on the lips before running off and out the window. Megalim smiled and chuckled as she watched her go. "Why out the window?"

Lexy ran towards the slowly moving zombies and blasted a few here and there with some fireballs killing easier targets and to get the attention of other zombies. Once she gathered a group, she had them follow her into the house. Luckily they sped up once they started chasing her, or her plan would have taken forever.

After the first group, there was another and another. The only thing that was bothering Lexy was the fat poison zombies, who seemed to be very slow.  Even as she had gathered the last of the regular zombies, the fat poison zombies still had not entered the house or even got close enough to it to keep pulling them inside. "It seems we will need to fight those outside… Maybe this will be for the best as well."

As she brought the last group in and forced her way through the group of zombies and over the barricade, she gave Megalim the okay to cast her spell. "Darkness of dark... Time be forgotten… Let thy hell fires burn! Area Conflagration!"

A burst of fire formed in the house, engulfing all the zombies within it. As this kind of spell was a damage over time attack, Lexy and Megalim had to wait for the spell to do its job before they could turn their attention to the fat poison zombies outside. "Next, we will kill each fat boy one at a time. They are very slow, but I have a feeling something is more off about them than it seems, so we will need to keep our distance."

"Alright, I will follow your lead." Megalim trusted Lexy's judgment.

After the death of the zombies, they gathered Lexy and Megalim, took a small rest to allow Megalim to regain some of her mana. Luckily this game did not limit mana regeneration on whether you were in combat or not, or else they would be in a real pinch. But at this level, mana regeneration was still very slow.

After resting, Lexy and Megalim went out to start the battle with the fat poison zombies. "Megalim, only use big spells if you have to, don't waste too much mana. I can still get in range with my weapon to attack without being hit."

"Got it!" Megalim yelled out as they got into their battle stances and started the fight with the first fat poison zombie.

Off to the side, sitting on a rooftop, were two people watching the battle going on below them. "Those two make a good team."

"That they do. Sadly I have to admit they are cute together… Although Lexy is still my little sister, and no one can take that right from me!" Olivia said with pursed lips. "But seriously, they move well together."

"Your idea of sending them here to fight the waves was a good idea. It will prepare them for the future." Staple praised. When Olivia told her that she wanted to have Lexy and Megalim do the undead village questline, Staple's face paled. Mainly because of the stench but second because of the difficulty. The A.I. was quirky and liked to break the system by sending extra waves at people who say the wrong thing. But the difficult part had just started.

Each wave after the first ten waves was increasingly difficult that it seemed more like a raid than a questline. No one to date has ever completed the questline to the last wave. One team had gotten to the sixteenth wave and said the monsters were like raid bosses. Even Olivia only made it to the fifteenth wave on her own, and as for Staple, she only made it to the eleventh, the one Megalim and Lexy were currently on.

"What do you think are their odds of getting past the fifteenth wave?" Staple asked.

"Id, say pretty good. Lexy's mind works in strange ways. She fixed their mana problem by making use of the zombies' stupidity. But that will only last until the thirteenth wave, when the zombies with intelligence start to spawn. They will plan an act according to Lexy and Megalim's decisions. Either way, their experience reward is really high right now. They have leveled up fast." Olivia replied. But there was something else bothering her as of late. Every day just like Lexy, Megalim had been logged in from morning to night. She was not even logging out anymore during the day like she used to. A bad feeling swept over her as she thought of what might be the cause of this. 'She couldn't be right?' She wondered if Megalim was now like Lexy. Trapped in the game forever…

"Staple, have you noticed anything weird about Megalim and Lexy?" Olivia wanted to know what Staple thought on this issue.

"Hmm? Other than how attached they are to each other, nothing out of the norm. But I only get to log in for a few hours a day. Why do you ask? " Hearing Staple's answer reminded Olivia that Staple had a day job, unlike her neet self.

"Nothing, I was just wondering." Olivia decided to drop the question. She would have to confirm things herself if Megalim was willing to talk about it.

Back on Lexy's side of things, Lexy's face was currently contorted in a look of disgust. "Nya! Why do you need to stink so bad after you die!?"

They had killed the first fat poison zombie only to find out that when it died it puffed out a big cloud of stink! Lexy's was cursing her cat girl nose! She wondered why she had such sensitive smell all of a sudden!
