The lead person was an old man, and he nodded slightly to Lexy’s question. “It is true we were once dead in a sense. In truth, we were under a curse. The curse must have been from the undead flower. This town, our home, was once a flourishing village. But slowly, disease took over, and our bodies began to rot. Even our memories of who we were began to slowly disappear until we officially became a town of the undead. But thanks to you destroying the undead knight who was possessed by the skull flower, the curse on us and our town has been lifted. So many years have passed. To be alive again is truly amazing.”

“Wait… If the skull flower was the cause, then what about the doctor who asked us to get it in the first place?” Lexy looked around and did not see the doctor anywhere. He was nowhere to be found.

“This… I will have my people search the town and try to find him. If I recall correctly, he only appeared here with us when we first turned into the undead…” The old man was slowly putting things together. “My guess is he had something to do with our plight!”

Both Lexy and Megalim had a quest window pop up in front of them. The mystery of what happened here was something both Lexy and Megalim wanted to solve. But it seemed that the true answer was something they would need to work hard on to figure out.

“A quest that is automatic…” Lexy was surprised the quest they received did not allow you to decline and was forced on to the player. Of course, Lexy did not care. With this, she now had a goal besides just looking around. Shaking her head, Lexy turned her attention back to the old man. “Me and Limlim will work on trying to figure out what is going on. Hopefully, from now on, you all can live normal lives.”

The old man bowed his head in thanks. “Miss, what you did today will live on in our hearts forever. We can never thank you enough. Currently, our village is a mess, so we can not give you any proper thanks, but if you are ever in this area again, we will welcome you wholeheartedly and will treat you to the biggest feast you can ever imagine.” 

“It’s fine, nya.” Lexy panicked and waved her hands back and forth. She did not wish for the old man to bow to her.  She quickly went forward and helped him stand up. “ I will try to stop by the next time I am in the area.”

With that, Lexy and Megalim said their goodbyes and left the village. The once spooky road was no longer as scary as before.  Although the trees were still dead, all the eerie feelings that Lexy got before were now all gone. 

After walking for a bit, clapping sounds could be heard coming from up the road. Lexy and Megalim saw Olivia and Staple standing there waiting for them. “Not bad to think you would be able to actually complete the quest. Sadly I think this was one of those quests that changed the world. No one will be able to take on the quest to fight the waves of zombies again.” Olivia said while giving a thumbs up to Lexy. “But Lexy… Pfft… That beating just now… Pfft. Ahahaha! It was great!”

Just picturing the scene of Lexy smashing her fists into the undead knight's face was enough to bring about another laughing fit. Staple chuckled and shook her head. “But really you guys soared past me in a single quest. I will need to really work hard to level up now.” 

It was true, Lexy was now level 35 and was almost ten levels higher than Staple. This was only because the quest gave a lot of experience for the monsters Megalim and Lexy killed. The quest line itself was more of a raid quest than a normal quest line. Lexy blushed and scratched her head. “I didn’t expect to level up so much either hehe…”

Lexy now had 105 Status Points that she could use on whatever she wanted. She planned to work with Nana to figure out her best build. She did not want to just spend her points randomly. But she also needed to work hard as she only had a few skills. It seemed Meghalim had an array of skills that were very good while she only had two whip attacks besides her magic attacks. She wanted more whip attacks so she could mix and match in a fight. While magic was good, her mana was not limitless. She had to be careful about how she used it.

“Don’t worry, Staple, you will catch up in no time.” Olivia said as she put her arm around Staple’s shoulder. This caused Staple to blush.  “Oh yeah!” Olivia suddenly thought of something, took her arm off Staple and clapped her hands together. “They announced another event will be coming by the end of the month. It seems the first event went so well that they decided to hold a second one.”

Oliva knew that Lexy would have no idea what was posted in the announcement center on the website. She also had a feeling Meglim would not know either which was shy she wanted to let the girls know now before she forgot. 

“A new event?” Lexy asked, her eyes lit up. She had fun during her first event.

“Yep, they call it capture the flag. It is an event where you collect flags on a mountain while trying to reach the top. The one with the most flags standing at the top of the mountain is the winner. They said that all levels can join and you can also team up. So I was thinking… Hehe… Why not have our World Domination guild stand at the top of this event as well?”
