Inside the warehouse was a pile of dead bodies and rat corpses, all stacked up. Beside them were piles of decomposed trash and other things as well. The first thing Lilly did was call the landlord. The old woman called the cops and came down to check things out.

The old woman walked over to Lilly and rubbed her back as she said: "Sorry about this, I never expected such a thing. The cops said they would get the warehouse and the basement clear of the junk as there could be evidence mixed in. But you will need to clean out the rest."

Lilly forced a smile and nodded her head. "Mmm... It's fine. Sorry, it was just my first time seeing dead bodies."

"Don't worry. For now, come back with me. You can stay with me until they clear things." The old woman took Lilly's hand and led her off.

During those three days, the old woman treated her as family, made sure she ate well, and in return, Lilly did her best to help her out around the house. Even to this day, she goes over to help the old woman out.

"What I returned to was an empty shell of a house that needed everything cleaned. I think I dealt with the pungent smell from that day on as I slowly cleaned the place.  I got water from outside and cleaning supplies, and lots of scented things to keep around the small space I first cleaned out for me to sleep in. Day after day, I cleaned the basement room out that was covered in shit. And I mean literally shit. Most people would never want to live in a place that was once a cesspool, but I was not willing to give up this place and the deal that came with it.

"It took me almost two months to finally clean the downstairs to the point where I could live in it without feeling disgusted. Luckily the people around here were helpful and helped me with many things. After half a year, the warehouse was finally spotless, and there was no longer a foul stench anywhere.

"That was when I began setting up my computers and started my work on Tezz here." Lilly patted Tezz on the head with a smile.

Eve looked at Lilly and then around the room. She knew Lilly was a hard worker, and the work she did here proved it all. "You are really admirable."

"Huh?" Lilly turned and looked up at Eve in confusion.

"Well, I mean, how many do you know would deal with such a situation and still work hard to clean the place to be fit for living? You knew people died here, yet you still wanted to keep it. But I must say it is good that you did because this room alone is like a little hideout. You are able to conceal the things you do not wish for people to see. Plus, you got cute little Tezz over there to protect it all for you." Eve replied. She was truly amazed by Lilly's dedication.

"Thanks..." Lilly blushed and lowered her head.

"Lilly, Eve is now inputted into the system," Tezz said as her eyes went from a bright glow to a dimmer one.

"Thank you, Tezz. For now, we need to figure out what to do for you, Eve. I am not sure if you enter a low energy state at night or what… Do you need a place to rest, or?" Lilly was not sure what Eve did. She was an A.I., so one would think she would not need to rest, but she did not know with how Eve acted if she liked to sleep or not.

"It's fine. I can sit on the floor." Eve replied. She did not need sleep as she was an A.I., so she could just sit back and finally think things through without worrying about being attacked. She still had to figure out where she could set up a base of operations, but she first needed to fix her body.

"Alright… I will take a bath then. But first, let me lock the place up." Lilly went to the hatch and took out the crystal from the slot on the hatch before closing it and locking it tight. The downstairs had vents that brought air in and circulated it back out, so no matter how tight the place was sealed up, it was never stuffy.

Once that was done, Lilly walked over to her bath area and turned the water on. She stripped down to nothing and placed her clothes into a bucket full of water. Eve watched her every move and couldn't help but give Lilly a thumbs up for her figure. But she felt bad sitting there doing nothing, so she asked: "Do you want me to wash those?"

Lilly blushed and shook her head. "No, it's fine. I will wash them in the morning after they have soaked overnight. It will help get the dirt out of them."

"Okay..." Eve pursed her imaginary lips as she sat down and looked up at the cement ceiling. Just looking at this place reminded her of her previous life. The tables were full of robot parts, the computer screens flickering on and off. All of it reminded her of her old office.

A splash of water could be heard as Lilly washed herself off before getting into the tub. Her black hair draped over her shoulder as she slipped into the hot water. As she laid down, she let out a relaxed sigh. "Today was a tiring day..."

"I am sure it was." Eve got up and walked over to Lilly, and knelt down by the tub. "As a special treat, I will wash your back for you. Take it as my thanks and apology for almost getting you killed today."

Lilly blushed and nodded her head as she sat up. Her faint smile only lasted a few seconds, though, before she had to grit her teeth in pain. "Eve! Too rough!"
