“How can you say that!?” Eve felt depressed. She didn’t realize she had no naming sense!

“Some things in life are just like that, Eve. You are good at one thing but suck at another.” Aiu replied bluntly.

“Humph! Just wait, I will think up even cuter names, and you will love them!” Eve wouldn’t admit defeat just yet. She decided that one day she would definitely come up with cute names for Aiu’s baby bots!

“There!” While Eve was busy thinking up names, Lilly had finished setting up the new computer next to hers. She wanted to work side by side with Eve.

Eve watched as the screen flickered on and booted up. The words Cyber Tech appeared on the screen before going to the desktop. Eve wondered just how quick these glass based computers truly are. Lilly happily pulled the chair out for Eve and had her sit down. “See if it all works to your liking. If the specs are too slow, I can always get some more expensi…”

“This is fine.” Eve cut Lilly off. “You spent so much money on me already I will make do with this. Plus, I do not think anything I create will be too labor intensive anyway.”

It was true that Eve did not think anything she made would be able to take up too many resources as she was used to simplified code that ran well. Even Aiu’s neural networks took time to condense and simplify to a point they could run on normal computers at a fast pace. But even then, her system was still too much for a compacted computer, and it would overheat without proper cooling.  At the time, she was trying to make Aiu a body of a teenage girl that looked no different than any other human, but the code kept erroring out when she tried to keep the processing down enough to not overheat anything. She also did not wish to install a bulky cooling system which would have been needed to pull it off.

Eve bent her metal fingers, and they glided over the keyboard with much skill as she began writing batch file after batch file.  All her code was in machine code. At her side, Lilly stared at Eve with eyes full of reverence. Even she was unable to write so much code so quickly. Not to mention it was all machine code which was something that she could not code with very well.

An hour passed, and finally, Eve hit the enter button. “There! A coding program.”

“You created an entire coding program!? I could have installed one for you.” Although she had watched the whole process herself, she was still stunned that Eve had created a coding program from scratch. Looking at the sleek interface with minimal parts to it made Lilly want to try it out herself.

“Mmm... This coding program is free of the bloat other programs would have. It has a compiler that will compile a program to an executable and simple set of debugging tools. I rarely use them, but they are still good for certain things.” Eve explained. When she turned and saw Lilly’s starry eyes, she couldn’t help but chuckle. Do you want to try it? I can send it to you if you want.”

“Yes!” Lilly nodded her head up and down with a bright smile on her face. This was a new toy for her, and it was built by an A.I., which made it even better!

“Alright, I will send it to you.” Eve sent the file over to Lilly’s computer before hacking into Lilly’s security systems. But as she did, she felt something was familiar about them. “Hmmm? Haven’t I hacked this before?” Eve mumbled.

“It’s not, have you, but you have. I think Lilly was the one you hacked when searching space net.” Aiu answered.

“Eve, what do you mean?” Lilly stopped what she was doing and looked at Eve's screen. Her jaw almost hit the floor when she saw her security system was completely hacked! “You! No fair! I worked so hard on that system! Wait! You were the one who hacked me before, weren't you!?”

“Ah… yeah, that was me. Your security is not bad, but you still have a lot to learn when it comes to full security. I will update it with the same system I used to block you before but one hundred times better. Hehe. I will teach you.” Eve giggled as she went to work. She had not had this much fun in a long time. She normally only ever had Aiu to speak to, so having Lilly to talk to about these things was very fun for her.

Tezz was sitting in between the two on the connected desk, feeling happy that Lilly now had someone to help her and teach her. She could see how much fun Lilly was having. While Lilly was always happy, Tezz knew that sometimes Lilly would get lonely. She did her best to fill in that gap of communication as much as possible without exposing herself too much, but it was nowhere close to being enough.

But this was a true start to Eve’s and Lilly’s friendship. The two were like two peas in a pod. Lilly latched on to every one of Eve’s words while Eve found Lilly to be worthy of teaching. At the same time, Lilly was teaching Eve about this day and age's new technology. They were both A.I. geeks who loved to create things, so as Eve began making other programs that she would need soon in the creation of her head and torso, Lilly did her best to help her out. Lilly was so excited about everything they were doing that she did not even question why Eve didn’t know certain things. She assumed it was due to the huge hole in the side of Eve’s head that Eve was lacking some knowledge on stuff.

With Tezz reminding Lilly to eat and drink throughout the day, the two worked deep into the night. Only by early morning did Eve finish all the necessary programs. Eve looked down at Lilly, who at some point fell asleep and used her hard metal legs as a lap and smiled. “This girl really trusts me to death, huh.”

“You are the first real friend Lilly has ever made. Other than the old lady who stops by from time to time, Lilly is always alone. I can only do so much for her…” Tezz whispered.

Eve looked at Lilly and sighed inwardly. For people like them who loved A.I. in a day and age like this, it was torture to not be able to share your love with others. Eve could understand why Lilly was so happy.
