“An hour break, huh? Yuki, want to take a walk in the woods?” Ai asked. In truth, she really just wanted to get out from under everyone's eyes. They were all still looking at her weirdly after she poked that one girl in the butt.

Yuki thought for a moment before nodding her head. Yuki did not fully trust the two girls with her, but she did not feel that they were bad people either. So after agreeing, she looked at Nana, who nodded back to her. The three girls then got up and headed toward the forest. Ai was twiddling with her fingers as they walked. She wanted to be friends with both Yuki and Nana. Although they did not speak much, she did not mind that. She took a deep breath and turned around as she walked backward as she asked: “Um…. Can we be considered friaahhhh!”

Ai's foot got caught on a tree root sending her flying backward. She was unable to catch her balance as she fell. She closed her eyes and was waiting for the impact. But before she was about to hit the ground, she felt her body stop. She slowly opened her eyes to see a set of cold yet beautiful eyes staring back at her. They sat upon a beautiful face that completely entranced Ai. Her heart began beating wildly as she stared at the beautiful appearance that seemed so otherworldly to her.

Yuki tilted her head in confusion as to why Ai’s face was bright red as she helped the girl stand back up and even fixed her robes so that they were neat and tidy. Seeing such a situation, you would think Yuki was mad due to her expressionless face, and Ai, with her red face and watery eyes, had been crying, but the reality was much different. Just one flustered girl and one oblivious girl.

The girls continued walking around the forest. Following behind them in secret was Elder Nishikawa. She was keeping a close eye on her new disciple. But this did not mean she would step in right away. Even as a rank two demonic beast appeared in front of the three girls, she did not move.

“ROAR!” The demonic beast that looked like a mythical unicorn dug its hoof into the ground and pointed its razor sharp horn at the three girls, and bared its razor sharp teeth. It was called a sharp toothed deer. They were not the type of demonic beast that ate plants but were full fledged meat eaters.

Ai’s eyes opened wide in fear seeing the rank two demonic beasts. That was not something they could easily fight! “We should run!” Ai wanted to get away as fast as possible, but to her surprise, she saw Yuki suddenly draw her sword and rush forward.

To Yuki, who had been in the deepest parts of the demonic beast infested forest, a rank two demonic beast, even a rank three, was no issue for her as long as they were not armored or speed types. And the sharp toothed deer was something Yuki was familiar with. She had a few corpses in her space that she was saving to cook. She happened to like the taste of their meat the most.

The sharp toothed deer did not like being challenged and quickly charged at Yuki with its horn. But this was what Yuki was waiting for. She used her sword to strike the horn to divert the direction the sharp toothed deer was going in before kicking it in its side and using that to launch herself up into the air before spinning around and falling down right above the sharp toothed deer. It raised its head as it skidded to a stop, only for a sword to pierce through its eye and spurt blood skyward, spraying all over Yuki.

Yuki did not even care about the blood as stomped on the sharp toothed deer's head, making it fall to the ground before twisting her sword a few times to finish it off. Yuki wiped her cheek, smearing the blood as the two other girls and Elder Nishikawa stared at the blood soaked Yuki in shock and amazement. She stood there on top of the sharp toothed deer that was twice her size with her sword stabbed into its eye covered in blood as if she was some kind of death god that came to reap the sharp toothed deers life away.

Yuki pulled her sword out and flicked it, but some of the blood still stuck to the blade. Frowning, she used her robes to clean it off before sheathing it. She then grabbed one leg of the sharp toothed deer and began dragging it towards the field they had just came from. She planned to cook it for tonight's dinner.

She walked past the two girls who were in a daze and paused before stopping and looking at them. It was only then that Nana snapped out of it and grabbed the rear leg to help carry the sharp toothed deer's corpse back.

Elder Nishikawa wanted to know even more about what Yuki had been through. The girl did not seem to be bothered by blood in the slightest. But more than that, she was easily able to take down a rank two demonic beasts with little to no effort at all. “I am starting to wonder if I should even worry about her….”

When the three girls returned to camp, Yuki drew a lot of attention as she walked over to where she had been sitting before with a sharp toothed deer. She had Nana let it fall to the ground as she slowly began to cut it open. The hide and horn of a sharp toothed deer could be sold for a few coins, so she wanted to keep it to make some money off of later on. They could both be made into weapons and armor.

But the meat was different. She wanted to cook it all up in one go. Have some now and then save the rest for later. Of course, if she was a normal person, she would drain all the blood out first, but for Yuki, she liked the taste of blood in her mouth. She did not know why, but it always seemed to calm her.

“Yu-Yuki, are you going to….”

*Splurt!*

Blood sprayed from the slice Yuki made in the gut, and the insides began to flood out. Ai's face went pale as she turned her head and began to dry heave.
