“We can only hope. He said that if his sources were correct, the technique would be on the right wall in the furthest corner.” Nana did not know what the technique was, but she hoped it would help either her or Yuki, if not the both of them, since they could share techniques if they were suitable for the both of them.

“Let’s check it out then!” Yuki grabbed Nana’s hand and pulled her along.

The treasure pavilion was not a place most would venture into often. Only when they had enough points saved up, and they really wanted something out of it. Many disciples would go tens of years without being able to buy a single thing from this place, mostly because they would spend all their contribution points at the alchemist pavilion to buy pills to help with their cultivation.  Or pills that would be needed for going out on a mission. They had many different pills for people to use, but they all cost contribution points. While these pills were normally cheap, they would still take up most of the contribution points one could get from a mission.

The two entered the third floor, which had rows upon rows of box shelves, each one filled to the top with different cultivation methods. These methods were all stored inside one of the square boxes.  Yuki and Nana ignored the items on the shelves and made their way towards the place that Fatty had mentioned.

“Just a dead end….” Nana mumbled as she looked at the shelf against the wall. She could not sense anything out of the ordinary that was worth paying attention to.

Yuki had not said anything yet as she looked around. She was unsure of what she was looking for, so she did not want to give up hope just yet. She looked at each shelf and read the label under each box. Each of these were earth ranked techniques that were quite powerful. But Yuki did not see anything that would be good for her. “Maybe it really was a myth….”

Yuki turned and was about to walk away when she saw something glimmer under the light coming from between the shelf and the wall. She tilted her head slightly and, out of curiosity, walked over to the space between the wall that was only about two inches and saw that all the way in the back by the wall, a scroll like the ones on the shelves could be seen. “I think I might have found it.”

Nana turned and saw Yuki half lying on the floor, trying to reach in between the back wall and the bookshelf. “Can you reach it?” Nana couldn’t hide the excitement in her voice. She wondered just what kind of technique was hidden there.

Yuki furrowed her brow as she pushed her arm as far back as she could. She could feel the shelf scrapping at her skin. The space was tight, but luckily she was a skinny girl. After shoving almost her entire arm between the wall and the shelf, her fingers finally grab hold of the scroll. She slowly flipped the scroll into her grip and pulled her arm out.

The only problem was that these scrolls were sealed with some kind of spiritual array. You could not open them. You had to bring them down to the old man to get a copy of the technique so that the original could be kept safe.

But unlike the other scrolls, the scroll in Yuki’s hand was old and beaten up. If the light had not hit it just right as she turned her head, she would never have known it was there due to how dirty and dim the metal casing was around the ends of the scroll.

“No idea what kind of technique it is…. Let’s search a bit. We will choose techniques that might help us, and when we figure out what kind of technique this is, we can switch it out depending on if either of us wants to use it or not.” Yuki wanted to make sure they had a backup, just in case. From what she had gathered about the old man was that he was someone who disliked being disturbed.

“Mmm…”Nana agreed. She felt it would be better to have a backup technique. But she also felt that they should get something that they both could use. “Let’s try to get techniques that we both can use. This way, we can share them. It would be a waste not to try to cultivate two earth techniques.”

“That would be true if the two of us used the same weapons and had the same battle style, but we don’t. Although…. If we can get a body fortification technique and movement techniques….” When Yuki thought about it, both body fortification and movement would be two huge bonuses for the both of them.

Nana’s eyes had lowered when Yuki said their styles with different, but the later part made them light up again. They both had the same goals in life. Trying to rescue their clans. It could be that their clans were attacked by the same people. So if they were able to get make use of the fact that they were close enough to share their techniques, then they could easily progress much faster! “Let’s do that then.”

The two grinned at each other before they started to look at each shelf. They had plenty of time, so they did not need to rush. Well, this was as long as the old man below did not make the rush. But even so, if he did, they could just take the hidden technique and ask him about it before either one of the taking it and the other coming back to try to get a technique the next day or leaving the technique with the old man and both coming back to look for something that suited them both. Either way, they would get something that suited them.
