“Desa, I know I went through the same thing, but are you sure this will be safe?” Yu asked. She was feeling quite worried about Mike. She knew that it was a very painful process to gain a system and evolve.

“Mmm… I do not think anyone can die during the process. If they do, they may become an undead at the minimum. But I could be wrong. We can only hope things will work out. But you have to remember Mike is strong. He is not weak in the slightest.” Desaray did not think Mike was weak at all. No one weak would be able to risk their life for another. Strength alone did not matter. It was a person’s heart and their will that made them strong. Mike was strong in Desaray’s eyes.

Yu reached out and held Desaray’s hand as if trying to calm her emotions. She watched the fog as it spun around in a dome-like shape. After quite a few minutes, the fog began to slowly dissipate. What was revealed was not exactly what everyone was expecting. A lump of rocks was in the place where Mike had been sitting.

Yu slowly walked over to the bed and called out to the lump of rocks. “Mike?”

“Hmmm?” The rocks shook and slowly came together and stood up. They did not look human but had a humanoid shape. A red glowing orb was embedded into the head acting like an eye. It was nothing more than a mass of rocks put together, making up Mike’s body. “This is…. I became a rock!?”

“Haha!” Desaray couldn’t hold back as she let out a laugh. But she also smiled warmly at the rocky person in front of her. “I think it is quite fitting for a man who used himself as a shield. If I am not wrong, you have evolved into a golem, right?”

“Ah? Yeah…. I am an earth golem.” Mike nodded. He looked at his hands which were nothing more than a bunch of rocks put together. He also felt his vision was much wider, as if he could see all around him.

“Thank god you are okay!” Yu jumped up onto the bed and hugged Mike, causing the rock, which acted as his head, to turn a slight pinkish color. Desaray found this quite amusing.

“Looks like we got a full team!” Becky replied. They had a Tank now, which would be Mike, and they had DPS along with heals that could be given out by everyone as long as they leveled.

“Mmm… That is if Mike’s Health is high. Mike, what is your health at level 1?” Desaray asked.

“100. Is this high?” Mike asked, causing everyone’s expressions to sink.

“I would say! Mines only 200, and I am level 4!” Desaray pursed her lips. She thought dragons were supposed to have the highest health!

“It works out in the end, so it’s fine. Desa and Mike will be our forwards. Since Mike’s health is lower, he will be the off-tank until he surpasses Desa’s health. I am unsure about defense though, so we will need to check this as we try to level up. ” Becky patted Desaray’s sulking back. She knew that Desaray put dragons above all other fantasy monsters.

“Yeah, we will go with Becky’s plan. Our current situation is no different from a game. So if we want to survive, we will need to treat it as such. Mike, if your stats are geared toward defense, then you should think about spending your points on skills that can boost this aspect. But do not neglect healing.” Desaray patted her cheeks to boost her spirits. She also wanted to make sure that Mike always had a way to heal if one of them could not do it. Self-preservation was still very important.

“I will keep that in mind. Should I start with the basics, as you called them?” Mike asked.

“Yeah, get the basics since the skills will come in handy at any time.” Desaray nodded. The few she took would come in handy at any level and time.

“Okay, so since that is decided, what is our next move?” Ricky asked, his eyes falling on Desaray.

“We will take a look around and try to see if we can find any signs of Becky’s, Yu’s, and Mike’s families. Although I do feel the chances are slim, it’s not 0%, so it is still worth it to look. While we are searching, we can try to level everyone up. I just wish there was some kind of teaming function….” Desaray had looked at her menu but saw nothing that could be used as a teaming interface.

“Desa, I think we have bigger problems….. The sky…” Becky pointed at the sky that was once more a bright golden yellow with a look of fear in her eyes. She slowly moved towards Desaray and Ricky to feel a bit of security in numbers. She knew if this dropped and her parents were still alive that this might just kill them if they had yet to evolve.

“Dad, what should we do!?” Desaray asked, reaching out to hold his hand. Even Desaray couldn’t hide her fear. After the last light wave, she was kind of scared of these huge drops of light in the sky. Her big watery eyes stared up at the sky.

“Everyone to the corner over there where all the debris is piled up against the wall. We will use it to shield us from the wave so we are not swallowed by it. Huddle together!”
