After taking a day to recuperate, Shizuku and the girls both looked at the room once more with the blue orb. “Shizu, if you grab the orb, can you take out the statues after Mei and I hold them off for a few seconds?”

Listening to Miyumi’s suggestion, Shizuku nodded. If they could hold them off just long enough, they could easily deal with things. Now, this was only the worst-case scenario. They did not know how fast these statues would be if they did attack at all. If they were slow and only had to defeat them, then they could easily take a few out before Shizuku had to do anything. “We will see how fast they are. If they are quick, then we will do as Miyu suggested. If they are slow, we will  do as per normal.”

“Understood,” Miyumi replied.

“I hope they are slow.” Mei was pounding one fist into her palm. It seemed she was looking to fight. After watching her master killing things so easily, Mei also wished to grow stronger faster.

With their plan set, the three girls walked into the room. Their eyes locked onto the area around them. “We will do as planned.” On Shizuku’s words, the other two girls nodded and took up a spot on each side of the room.

Shizuku walked to the middle of the room and took a deep breath. She reached out and picked up the blue orb from the pedestal, and not even a second later, a loud bang was heard as the doors slammed shut behind them.

Cracking sounds could be heard as the statues slowly began to move. Shizuku did not want to be too overwhelmed, so she quickly sent out a few blades of blood and destroyed two of the statues. “They are slow moving! You girls know what to do.”

“Mei, I will aggro!” Miyumi yelled out as she began pulling the statues towards her.

Mei gave her some time to grab aggro before launching an attack. Mei did not hold back and used all her strength in her attack, causing one of the statues to lose an arm in an explosion of rocky debris. With Miyumi holding her ground as tank and Mei acting as the damage dealer, Shizuku stood in the back and cast heal on whoever needed it.

Ten minutes later….

“Gah! That was crazy!” Miyumi fell on her butt, sweat dripping from her brow. The statues were not easy to kill, with just Mei hammering at them. Shizuku had destroyed two of them since she used her blood to create a few blades that sliced through them like butter, but Mei could only hammer away at them.

“You both did well. Miyu, you’re getting better at holding aggro. I think our future dungeons will go very cleanly.” Shizuku was quite impressed by Myumi’s handling of multiple targets at once. She was getting better and better.

“Hehe.” Miyumi was happy to be praised.

The three girls walked out of the room and saw that the ghosts were not affected at all by them taking the orb and felt relieved. “I think the ghosts were here to make you think they would do the same thing as they did before. Luckily, this was not the case.”

“Yeah, I do not wish to relive the whole ghoul thing again.” Miyumi was glad she did not need to fight any ghouls.

“Just to let you know, the undead race has many ghouls. So when we reach the fallen territory try not to attack them thinking they are monsters.” Shizuku teased as she bumped Miyumi’s shoulder.

“I know! I know!” Miyumi replied while pursing her lips.

The girls made it down the hall and inserted the orb into the other slot, opening the barrier on the other side. When they began walking down this hall, they noticed that there were no monsters at all.

“This is strange.” Shizuku frowned. She felt something was off about this place.

“Yeah. There doesn’t seem to be anyone here.” Miyumi furrowed her brow. Mei was busy sniffing the air, trying to catch the scent of anything, but nothing was being picked up.

As they walked, they did not see a single ghost or a monster. They walked all the way to the end of the hall, where a large double door was located. Shizuku frowned slightly. Large doors always meant one thing. “So, a boss room?”

“I think this is the throne room.” Mei looked at the fancy decorations on the door, and this was all she could think of.

“You might be right, which means this is definitely a boss. Whether it is the final boss or not is another story.” Miyumi nodded.

“Alright, let’s just do this. We are already at full strength, so no need to rest. If this is the final room, it would be nice, but this kind of makes this place a little lacking since there was not much to it. We will need to run this place a few tens of times before we can actually reach max level of this place. But now that I think about it, the monsters did not seem all that high level except for the bosses….” Shizuku pursed her lips. She did not understand what the purpose of this dungeon was.
