Vespa Keep, the lowest of low-level dungeons, which was the original reason the Kingdom of Vandale was built here. Way before it became a holy kingdom. Way before the time these lands were part of any kingdom. A town called Vespa once stood here. A mere two hundred people. All of which were dungeon crawlers. A time before the adventurer’s guild ever saw the light of day.

This dungeon had been going on for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Its true history was unknown. It was a dungeon any and all people could enter to start leveling up. It is said that the max level is level 20 on the tenth floor. Whether this is true or not, no one is sure since the tenth floor spans for many, many miles as if it were its own world. Not a single person has found the dungeon core, but it is a good place for those who wish to make their debut as adventurers or just to level up in general.

Now standing in front of the entrance, which had a flow of traffic going in and out, Shizuku and Mei stood waiting for the guard at the side to okay them for entry. “Can I ask why you stopped us in the first place? Everyone else is allowed in.”

“A Fallen shows up out of nowhere and tries to enter a human dungeon. What if you are here to try to kill people?” The guard replied with a snort.

“If I wanted to kill people, I would have done it when you stopped me. I mean, with how rude you are being, if I was not a resident of this kingdom, I might have just separated your head from your neck. You have been staring at my guild card for almost fifteen minutes already, so I am starting to think you can’t even read.” Shizuku was not going to let this guard bully her easily.

“Are you trying to interfere with my job? Should I arrest you here and now!?” The guard started to get mad. Shizuku sighed. She wished that she did not need to deal with all this crap. She knew not all people were good, but to run into two on the same day was just a bit.

“So stealing people’s items and then abuse of power. Is this not against the law in this kingdom? I do not know what rock you crawled out from under, but stealing a guild card is more of an offense than killing the old bastard in the church over there. I do not mind telling the guild that some crooked soldier from the church refused to let me enter a dungeon because of my race. A race that worships the same god as you.” Shizuku already had her fingernail on her wrist, ready to slice it at any time. She did not know if she was going to need to fight here or not.

“Is there a problem?” A man with a scar on his face walked over. Shizuku immediately recognized the man was the man that was at Margret’s place.

“Yeah, this soldier won’t let me into the dungeon and is keeping my guild card hostage,” Shizuku spoke up before the guard could say a word.

“You! I was only checking due to you being a Fallen!” The guard quickly retorted.  He knew the man standing in front of him and did not dare to get on his bad side.

“Oh? And why would you do that when this dungeon is free entry? Are you going to go against the laws that the guild has placed on this dungeon? I do not know if you are new or not, but doing this can get you fired from your post and sent to the slave pits for five years.” The man with the scar, Duglous, expression was dark. He had been watching Shizuku from the side and knew things were getting heated. He had hoped the stupid guard would pass over the guild card before things got out of hand. But when he saw Shizuku’s hands move into position so she could draw blood, he knew things were not good.

“This…. But…” The guard was reluctant to let things go. He did not like the Fallen and did not want to let the girl in. While he knew he would eventually have to do so, he was trying to take up as much of her time as possible. He would continue to do so until the girl finally gave up and did not show up around him ever again.

“Say another word, and I will dish out punishment here.” Duglous glared at the soldier. “You are to stand down now. Go back to whichever unit you are from. I will be making a proper report to the guild. Robert Elston, the youngest son of a high priest. Don’t think you will be getting off easily.”

“Tch! Just take it and get out of my sight!” The Soldier had no choice. He shoved the card back into Shizuku’s hands and glared at her while telling her to get lost.

“Get out of your sight? I have been trying to do that for almost an hour. But you have kept me here instead. Since you didn’t want to see me in the first place, why were you being such an asshole to start with? Don’t be a bastard; otherwise, you might wake up dead.”
