“How dare you!” Robert yelled out. He looked at the woman and man walking into his room and felt as if he was being slapped in the face repeatedly. He, the son of a high priest, was being treated as some commoner. “Do you think you can walk in here!? Once my father finds out about this, both of you will….”

“Will you shut up? Look how old you are, and you are still crying about your father. Maybe if you were a girl, this would be okay, but you’re a damn man. A grown one at that!  Now tell me now, where is Shizuku, the vampire you had a few words with the other day?” Margret stepped forward with her sword, causing the girls in Robert’s bed to scream and scramble off the bed.

“What do you care!? A Fallen in our holy city should just go and di-EEKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!”

*Smash!*

The bed in which Robert was sitting naked was split in two right out from under him. His face paled as he stared up at  Margret in fear. Duglous shook his head as he looked at the stupid man stuck in the crack of the split-in-half bed. “I suggest you put your attitude to rest and just answer her questions. If you piss her off too much, you will lose more than that bed.”

“Sandy! Sandy asked me to send some people to keep an eye out for the Fallen girl and her slave. She planned to send some people to deal with her. That is all I know!” Robert did not need any more persuasion. He feared that if he did not talk now, even if he was the son of a high priest, he would not see the sun go down on this day.

“So you had nothing to do with the men who followed her?” Duglous stepped forward in front of Margret to stop the woman from cleaving the man in two. He knew now was not the time to be fighting with a high priest.

“No, I was only supposed to let Sandy know when they entered the dungeon. I did not know she had even entered yet. While I might be a bit of a scumbag, I never deal with the small gangs around here. Sandy was going to get the people to send in. But it seems they went above and beyond since I have not been given a report yet.” Robert pushed all the blame onto Sandy. He now wanted nothing to do with that Fallen and her slave.

“I see… Thank you for that information. Now, let us talk about how you wished for my daughter to die!” Margret pushed Duglous out of the way. And marched toward Robert while tapping her massive sword off her shoulder. “Tell me, besides her race, what did she do to you?”

“This….” Robert couldn’t answer. In fact, she had done nothing wrong. He just did not like any Fallen, and since she was one, he had instinctively wanted to make things hard for her. Even if she died, he would only say it was her own fault for being born a Fallen.

“You see…. That girl you hate so much was once human. The goddess you worship was the one who changed her into what she is now. She had no choice. She was summoned to this world. Forced to become a vampire, and now you want her to die even though she did not choose any of this?

“Do you know why your church dislikes the vampires? Or any of the Fallen races?” Margret stared at Robert, her eyes ice cold.

“This… I do not….” Robert shook his head. He was not the brightest bulb.

“It’s because Fallen are strong. Too strong. They are one of the most powerful races, and so when the church saw fit to deem them of no use since they could not control them, they deemed them enemies of your goddess, which makes no sense. Since the goddess does not discriminate. Every race worships her, just in different ways. You discriminate against those who do wrong to you not to those who have no idea who you are. Shizuku is a kind girl who would have befriended you if you were kind to her. She is a pure soul, unlike you, a man who hates for no reason.

“Now I will have you come with me. I promise not to kill you as long as my daughter is fine.” Margret reached down, grabbed Robert by the neck, and lifted him into the air. “You have no right to refuse.”

In another location, in a back alley where the light of the sun barely reaches, a woman was kneeling on the ground shivering in fear. “It was Robert! He asked me to help him get revenge! His father is a high priest; I had no choice!” Sandy was in no way going to take the fall alone. She was trying to push all the blame onto Robert now.

“Really? Hehe….” Nora squatted on the ground and looked at Sandy. “Then why do the spirits tell me it was you who went to find Robert to have him help you take care of Shizuku, hmmm? Why is it that your story is so full of holes it makes no sense?  Tell me, Sandy, why would you want to attack an innocent person!?”

And while this was all going on, inside the guild, Amy looked at the two young women and the large sacks of gains with wide eyes. “You…. You…. You are alive!?”
