An hour passed, and Lexy held on to the cliffside with Megalim on her back once again. Even by now due to the distance between the ledge they were heading to and the previous ledge, Lexy was starting to get very tired. But because she had Megalim relying on her, Lexy was determined to keep going.

With her arms shaking from being overly tired, Lexy finally grabbed onto the final ledge and allowed Megalim to climb up. Megalim made sure to quickly turn around and help Lexy up after. "Finally!"

"OOooooOOooo!" A ghostly cry came from behind them, causing both Lexy's and Megalim's hair to stand up on end. They both turned around to see a patch of flowers that looked like skulls swaying in the breeze. With each gust of wind, the strange sound emanated out from them.

"The Skull Flower!" Lexy yelled out happily. They had finally found the Skull Flower! But she was too tired to pick it just yet. Instead, she crawled over to Megalim and hugged her waist, burying her head into Megalim's cute tummy.

"You really worked hard," Megalim said with a smile as she scratched Lexy's ears, causing the cat girl in her lap to begin to purr. Luckily the quest was not timed, so they could return at any time. Lexy's eyes grew heavy, and with the soothing sensation from Megalim's head patting, she slowly fell asleep.

Megalim only smiled when she saw that Lexy had fallen asleep. Even if they did fail the quest, she would not care. Her current life was absolutely amazing. Never in her life would she ever scale a cliff. Never mind actually climbing. She had even scaled a cliff while holding on to someone.  She felt bad and knew that Lexy was beyond tired. But this new life of hers that allowed her to be with the girl she loved in her arms, she would never give it up for anything.

Lexy napped for a good two hours before finally waking up. She curled her fist up and rubbed her right eye as she got up and looked around. "Where is this, nya?"

"Feel better? We are currently on the ledge, and the skull flower is right there." Megalim explained as she pointed to the skull flowers.

"Nya! That's right. Sorry, I must have been very tired." Lexy yawned and stretched her arms. She stood up and walked over to the Skull flowers. As she reached out to pick on, her mouth opened on its own as two embarrassing words escaped her mouth, "Gamer Spirit!"

Lexy blushed and took a side glance at Megalim, who was knowingly looking away while whistling, acting as if she didn't see anything. Lexy quickly plucked the flower and put it in her inventory for the quest. She then plucked the rest in case it could be used for other things like making a potion of some kind. She would need to check out her trade skill window later.

"Megalim, how are you feeling?" Lexy asked as she walked back over to Megalim.

"I am fine, but what about you, though? You had to carry me the entire time as we climbed up..." Megalim felt really bad for being so useless. Even with her new passive skill, rock climbing, she couldn't hold out as long as Lexy could.

"I feel very refreshed after the nap, so I am fine. But..." Lexy looked over the edge and frowned. "How are we going to get down..."

"This..." Megalim's whole body shivered just thinking about climbing down.

"I can give the holy spell float, but it only lasts thirty seconds and is only self-cast," Nana spoke up. "You could carry Megalim as you float down. But the only problem is that once you step off the edge, there is no way to control yourself, and the added weight of another person will drastically speed up your fall. In other words, you might still heavily crash into the ground below."

"Well, it's better than nothing..." Lexy frowned. She wondered just how many spells Nana was actually keeping from her. But she did not ask. She figured if Nana was only giving her so many spells at a time, there was probably a reason for it.

[Acquired New Skill: Float]

[Float]

[Allows the caster to float slowly down from high places.]

[Duration: 30 seconds]

[Mana Cost: 5]

"Thanks, Nana." Lexy still felt grateful for Nana's help. Although they were bound together, Nana still had her own thoughts and ways of doing things. As the one who needed her help, Lexy felt that she did not have the right to ask for anything or complain if Nana did not wish to help her.

"Mmm… And Lexy… Once you learn to fight better, I will give you more spells. I know you noticed I am holding back, so I won't keep it from you. I want you to learn to fight without magic first. Because there will come times when magic will not be of use. So being dependent on it as someone who can use a whip is not good. But I promise I will never hold out when the time calls for it." Nana could tell what was on Lexy's mind, so she felt there was no need to lie about it.

"I understand." Lexy smiled. She felt warm knowing Nana cared about her enough to not spoil her to the point that she would be too reliant on one thing.

"Ummm..." Megalim called out. "Nana… Is there any way to use a staff as a weapon even though I am a mage class?"

"Hmm…. If I recall correctly, although you are a mage, if you raise your strength a little, you can learn martial arts staff skills. But you can only do so after learning the basics on your own. You can buy the basic training manuals at any weapon shop. They have step-by-step instructions on the basic movements." Nana explained. She was starting to get a better impression of Megalim. At first, she thought this girl was just an ear-fetish weirdo who attached herself to her master. But after watching the two of them, she saw how much Megalim cared for Lexy. So her opinion of the girl was slowly changing and now seeing her want to better herself she felt that Meglim just barely met the requirements to be her master's lover.
