“You can’t count the market! That is that, and this is this!” Fina replied with a big smile on her face as she nodded her head as if what she said made any sense at all.

“Well… Can we use the testing area?” Kori just wanted to get into the testing area, not play word games with her old friend here.

“Alright! Geeze, outright ignoring me. You always do this!” Fina tried to pretend like she was hurt, but that only lasted a few seconds before she began smiling again. She walked out from behind the counter and went to pat Myu’s head when… “Ouch!?”

Kori grinned from ear to ear. She knew the little girl had a hot head! “Serves you right for trying to touch someone you don’t know!”

“But really, what the hell!?” Fina was blowing on her hand. It was already a bright red. She wondered if it would start to bubble up. Myu did not understand what had happened, so she decided to pretend she knew nothing and looked at Fina in confusion. Seeing such an expression, Fina sighed and waved them on: “Come on!”

They were led into a large area that was surrounded by stone walls. There was only a single door that led to this open space. While it was within the guild, it was technically outside, as there was no roof covering this place. Along the left wall was table after table lined up one after the other with weapons on top of them. This place was not only for people to test their weapons but also a testing area for when people wanted to join the guild. Not just anyone could join the guild after all. They had to have the ability to join as well.

Unless it was a new guild just starting out, normally, they would not take in newbies or anyone with less than a few years of experience inside the tower. Or, in some cases, they would have you go into the tower solo and retrieve an item from a higher floor. Each guild had different entrance tests. Some of which, like the top guilds, have multiple tests you have to pass before you can join.

“Alright, here you go. Remember, if you get hurt. Blame it on yourself. The guild is not responsible for anyone who is not a member. ” Fina had to give the normal warnings as this was part of her job as well. Kori nodded and sent Fina off while Myu looked over each weapon.

There were many different swords of all sizes, hammers, fans, and pretty much any kind of weapon Myu could think of was out on display. She did not dare to touch anything since they did not belong to her, but to see them up close, she was wondering if there was a weapon with a bit more utility.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that maybe she should get something that could be used both short range and long range. While at the same time being used for more than just killing. She had no idea what kind of weapon fell into this kind of category as she had never used a weapon before, but she really did wish to find something that had more uses to it.

The hammers were not too bad. But she did not wish to go this route. While they could be used for more than just fighting, they were also big and bulky. Strength may not be an issue, but the size of the weapon was. Myu had to curse her current small size. She hoped to grow up to have some decently sized meat buns and a beauty to match. Although currently, she did have worries about growing older at this point.

She looked at all the weapons from table to table, and she really couldn’t find anything that really matched what she wanted. “Myu, see anything you like?”

Myu shook her head. “Either too big for me or just not suitable. I want something that has more utility than a normal weapon.” Myu went on to explain what she was looking for.

“Hmmm…. Utility is it?” Kori herself was a sword user, but she knew it wasn’t all that useful in some situations. She looked around when she suddenly saw something on the end table. She reached out and grabbed Myu’s hand, and said: “I think I got just the right weapon!”

“Hmm?” Myu found herself being dragged along. When Kori came to a stop, Myu found herself at a table with different kinds of whip like weapons.

“Let’s see. Whips are great utility, but…. If you go a step up to rope darts or chain swords like this one here….” Kori picked up a weapon that was a metal chain with a short sword at the end of it. It could be used for both close range and long range. And since it was like a rope dart it had the same functionality as that and a whip at the same time. “So, from your description, this would be the best fit.”

Myu walked over and looked at the weapon in Kori’s hand. “Can I try it?”

“Of course.” Kori handed the weapon over. Myu held it in her hands and walked over to the center of the testing area. With one hand near the hilt of the sword and the other holding the rest of the coil of chain, Myu began to spin the sword in her hand to see how useful it was. Because she was short, she could only spin a little of the chain along with the sword. When she finally got the hang of spinning, she decided to try to throw it out. With one hand guiding the chain, she waited until just the right moment before throwing the sword out. The sword shot out like a rocket since Myu had used her strength in the throw. The coil of chain in her hand quickly disappeared until nothing but the handle was left in her hand.

When it reached its peak, the sword began to rebound, which was a surprise for Myu, along with how fast it came back at her. Just before the sword was about to pierce into her, a clanging sound was heard. Kori had somehow appeared in front of Myu and blocked the sword from striking her. “Myu, are you okay!?”
