Myu found herself standing in a special area where the porters lived within the Guild Association. Originally she was excited to see a race only found in the dungeon, but… Expectations and reality were two different things. “Hey, human! Hey Human! I know you can see me!”

A mini flying person with colorful semi transparent wings was fluttering around Myu’s head, poking her cheeks and nose while calling out to her. But for Myu, she was having a hard time not lighting the bug up into flames.

A few minutes earlier….

“This is where the Porters live. We were able to build an area just like they have on the second floor. In fact, this place is much bigger.” The man in charge of the porters replied with a bit of pride in his voice. He opened the door to reveal a large room with different kinds of trees and other plants growing within. Flying around the air were not the humanoid shaped insects that Myu had thought she would be seeing but just mini humans with wings on their backs. She was not all that disappointed because she still found it all fascinating.

“If you would follow me to the registration area. All Porters looking for work will be there.” The man explained as he led the three girls over to a special area that had a wooden booth set up. On top of the counter were a bunch of these porters sitting around talking to one another.

When the group came to a stop in front of the booth, the porters all turned and looked at the humans with a light in their eyes. After all, when they were not contracted with a climber, they could not get fresh blood. So seeing some fresh humans coming over was something to be excited about for them.

The man came to a stop in front of the booth and bowed his head before introducing Myu and Kori. “These two young women would like to make a contract.”

The porters did not say a word as they began sniffing the air. Some frowned while a few perked up and seemed interested, that was until. “Hold it! How dare you all try to get ahead of me!”

A small figure flew out from the darkness of the booth. The figure’s expression was quite arrogant as she stared down at the other porters, who all lowered their heads, not daring to look at the one in the air.

This arrogant small figure floated over to the others and looked at Myu and Kori before landing its eyes on Myu once more and licking its lips. “You! You smell yummy.”

The figure flew over to Myu and was just about to reach her when…

*Slap!*

“Wha!? What are you doing!?” The man who led them to the porters yelled out.

Myu did not understand why the man was getting mad, she only swatted a bug.  “Hmm? That wasn’t a mosquito?”

The man’s eyes went wide, seeing Myu’s confused expression. He turned to look at Kori and Aeko, who both averted their eyes. They had long both understood Myu was a, my pace, sort of person.  The man could only look over at the figure who had face planted into the ground and hoped that it would not get mad. He was only a normal human. If a porter wanted to, they could kill him with ease.

The porter lay face first on the ground, trying to comprehend what had happened. But for some reason, its cheeks were bright red, and the excitement in its eyes seemed a little strange. It sat up, red nosed, and turned to look at Myu. Its eyes flickering with determination. “I choose you! Human, you will be my contractor!”

Everyone stared at the porter, who suddenly flew up into the air and was now flying around Myu’s head with many different complex emotions. Kori and Aeko both had the same question floating in their minds: ‘Was this porter a masochist?’

And this brings us back to present….

“Hey, human!” The figure kept trying to get Myu’s attention, but Myu kept ignoring it. That was until a thought came to Myu’s mind. She reached out towards the small figure, pinched the hem of its long shirt or dress, and lifted it up…

“What are you doing!? How can you lift a girl’s skirt!?” The figure, or now confirmed young female porter, cheeks were bright red as she held her skirt down.

“So you are a girl…” Myu finally spoke. “I thought you were a man with how rude you were being.”

“What!? How was I being rude!?” The porter shouted. She felt offended by this remark!

“Well, you were arrogantly telling the others they had to wait their turn even though you came out of nowhere. Then you were poking me and buzzing around my head like a bug.” Myu replied honestly.

“Whose a bug!? No, that is not it. Anyway. Form a contract with me, human!” The porter decided to ignore the entire conversation about her being rude.

Myu pursed her lips and looked at the other porters who were still sitting on the booth counter and then back at the one floating in the air acting all haughty and shook her head. “No thanks. I prefer a kind porter who isn’t rude.”

“What!?” The porter did not expect such an answer! She would not have it, though. When she saw Myu looking at the others, she quickly shot toward Myu and bit into her neck, injecting a bit of a special type of fluid that is excreted out of her two tiny fangs that allows her to form a contract with humans.

“Ah….” The man at the side cried out and held his head. “What is going on!? You can’t force contracts!”

Kori also furrowed her brow. She did not understand why this porter was so dead set on Myu that she would even break the rules and force a contract.
