The two did not spend much time at the inn. Myu gave her thanks to the innkeeper and said goodbye to Tio, who was sad to see her go, but since they had not spent much time together, they did not have too much of an attachment to each other. Myu was given back her silver coins, and Kori grabbed the few things she had left behind.

Myu spent the next week doing nothing but training day and night. All she did was train. She wanted to be ready for a proper climb. And now was the day Myu planned to enter the dungeon alone.

“Myu, I do not think you should really be climbing alone….” Kori did not like this at all. She did not think Myu, who was inexperienced in the tower, should be really running off all by herself. While she knew Myu was strong. So strong that she was on par with herself, Kori still did not want her to go alone.

“I agree with Kori on this, but I also think you should not rely on the two of us either. What about having a porter go with you?” Aeko suggested. “You will need someone to carry all your items, no?”

Porters were a common sight in the tower. They are actually a race that lives within the tower. They lived on the second floor, to be precise. They could be considered monsters of the tower, but they were also not bound by the tower either. Most monsters could not leave the tower unless taken out by climbers. Some could be tamed, while others could not. The thing about porters was that they were like mini people with wings. But they lived off the blood of their contractor. This was why they were willing to make contracts with the climbers.

In exchange for free blood, the porters would use their interdimensional spaces to hold items. It was very convenient, but not every climber could get a porter. Porters can be hired, but only if the blood that the climber has suited their tastes. If you were lucky and one took a liking to you, you could form a contract with them, making them your personal porter, and you would become their food from that moment on. It was kind of like having a pet that chose you instead of you choosing it. But just having one at your side would make others jealous of you.

“Now that I think about it. I will need one now as well…” Kori had never thought about it before since she had always been in a team with people who had a dimensional bag. But now, while she still had such a bag, this was for the guild only. For personal items, she would need to get a porter herself.

“Yeah, it would be helpful. Especially now since you will only be able to go to the tenth floor either by yourself or with my guild.” Aeko would never allow Kori to be without. She wanted to help Kori build up her guild, which was why she was willing to live at her guild house to help out.

Kori smiled and nodded her head. “Then I will be counting on you. I will need a chance to get some items to help fund the guild.” While she had a lot of money, it would only last so long. Being a guild leader was not easy. While she also had to be at the guild, as the only one who had been to the tenth floor, she still needed to take time to farm items as well. This was why she did not plan to begin recruiting right away. She wanted to grow a foundation of wealth and items so she could equip her new members when needed.

Myu stood at the side while Kori and Aeko seemed to be deciding everything for her. She pursed her lips, wondering when she was going to get to go into the tower. “Ummm….”

“Ah, right! Myu, come. We will go see if you can get a porter first.” Kori scratched her nose. She felt bad for ignoring Myu.

Myu nodded and followed behind Kori and Aeko as they walked toward the guild hall. This was where the porters who decided to come down the tower were staying. While they needed a climber to physically take them out, they would all end up at the guild hall. Porters were not something Myu knew about. She hardly ever saw them. They seemed to not like too much attention and would normally hide in their chosen one’s hair. So even if you were walking down the street, the chances of seeing one would be zero to none.

So right now, Myu was quite excited since she would be seeing a porter for the first time. She hoped they were not ugly. From the way that Kori and Aeko were describing them to her as they walked, they sounded like human shaped bugs.  She was picturing a humanoid with a long stinger on their face that would suck their blood out, kind of like a mosquito.

When they entered the guild, Kori and Aeko gained a lot of attention. After all, they were well known climbers. And ever since the incident with Dio, they had become even more well known. So when they walked up to the counter, the receptionist nodded her head at the two with a smile before asking. “What can I do for you two ladies today?”

Kori grabbed Myu’s hand and pulled her forward as she said: “Me and my guild member here want to see if we can contract a porter.”
