No one knows how long the tower existed for. But the tower is part of many myths and legends. While only up to the tenth floor has been cleared, no one knows just how many floors the tower actually has. The world they live in, the city of Uruk, the only settlement known to man, is where this tower lies. It is the connection between the gods and the mortals down below. Whether the tower is some kind of game to the gods to see if mortals are really worthy of their attention or if the tower is a test to help those who reach the top ascend to godhood, no one truly knows.

But one thing people do know is that those with the runic markings of a god are able to climb the tower and strive to reach the top where it is said your biggest wish can come true. It is also because of this tower that the city of Uruk has been able to survive as long as it has.

The gods never contact the people they bless. They do not give them a reason why they choose certain people. It could be that they were beautiful enough, or their body makeup was just right. Maybe it was the way they carried themselves or the dreams they had. No one really knew what allowed one to become an awakened. The city of Uruk at this time has around a few thousand awakened. Most of which had been taken in by guilds who worked together within the tower to try to clear floors and farm for items.

Those in a guild are ranked by the number of floors they have reached. Of the three biggest guilds that have reached the tenth floor. Only Airia’s Blessing has gotten close to the guardian room. It is the number one guild of all the guilds within Uruk. The standards of entry to get into one of these top guilds were very high. Not just anyone could join one of the top guilds.

The three other guilds, according to ranking, are Runic Disaster and Gales Expanse. Each are very powerful guilds and are hard to get into. These guilds dominate most of the good farming spots on each floor, making it hard for newcomers to really gain much of anything.

Fights between guilds happen all the time. These fights, dubbed Guild Wars, are things that take place in the tower or in the coliseum. Guild rankings are also held every year to rank each guild. Only those in the top ten gain much recognition.

Light and shadow have no meaning, such as bad or good. Within the climbers, they come in all shapes and sizes. Some bad, some good. It all comes down to whether or not you will be able to you killing them or them killing you. There are no laws within the tower, after all.

And this was the place Myu was currently stepping into. While many whispered about her as she passed by, wondering why such a young girl was entering the tower, she ignored it all as she stepped through the open door of the tower. As she did, a voice entered her mind at that same exact moment. “Goddess Aizen Myoo’s chosen. You may enter….”

This was the first time she had heard her god's name, or in her case, it seemed to be a goddess. “Aizen Myoo….” Myu repeated the name in her mind as the world around her changed. What she was met with was a cave like area with rocky floors, ceilings, and walls.

The entrance was filled with people standing there. Many were in tattered clothing and rough looking armor. Myu could only guess they were like her, new climbers. All eyes were on her as she slowly made her way toward the entrance room’s exit to the tunnel that would lead to the first area of the first floor.

With so many climbers, it makes one wonder just how many gods there truly are. Each person had different powers, and each person did not have the same god. But strangely, there were gods of similar nature as well. Like the god of shadows and the god of darkness, both seemed intertwined but were not.

Myu ignored the stares of those around her as she entered the first room. It was already cleared out by those farming to make some money. But Myu was not here to make money at this time. She was here to bury her sister's ashes. Of course, she would not just bury them in the floor for others to walk over them, no she planned to bury them in a more secluded spot. She walked over to the far corner of her room, where no one was around, and placed her hand on the stone surface. Her flames of wrath began to rage as the floor slowly melted away. Only when she made a big enough pit did she place the urn into the hole. From there, she took a bunch of rocks to fill the hole all the way up before melting the rocks layer by layer until it was smooth with the rocky floor. After she was done, she closed her eyes and lowered her head.

“Rio…. It is not high in the tower, but… I was able to bring you inside. You made it. You entered the tower and became a climber….” Myu had tears slowly trickling down her cheeks as she sat in the corner. She planned to visit this place every time she entered the tower. This way, she can tell her sister about her progress and what she has seen and done while climbing the floors. “I will be leaving now. I will start my journey up the tower. Maybe I can get enough to actually sleep in an inn in the city tonight. However, it is highly doubtful on my first day. If anything, though, I will work hard. I will do my best to reach the top and make my new wish come true. Until next time….”

Myu stood up and bowed her head before turning around and walking deeper into the floor. The first area was already quite cleared out and was mainly used for newbies. Myu did not have much information on the way things ran within the tower, but she also did not care. If someone dared to try to take her kill, she would turn them to ash without any hesitation.

After turning down a few paths and passing through a few rooms, Myu finally came to a room with only two people farming in it. She looked around and spotted the first monster. These creatures were rock slugs, if she remembered correctly. They were quick due to the way their shells worked and hard to deal with when they hid in their shells. In a fight against one of them, her dagger was pretty much useless. After pondering for a moment on how to deal with this monster, Myu figured it was best to go with the simplest method. “I guess I can just cook it out of its shell, no?”
