Desaray shook her head as she slowly crawled up from under the debris. She looked up at her hp, which had dropped to 190, and sighed, thinking that she was truly lucky. She then looked around for her father, feeling panicked when she did not see him right next to her. “Dad!? Dad!?”

“Here!” A voice came from not far away from under the rubble. When the bathtub hit the ground, they both tumbled out of it and then were hit by a wave of debris. If they were human, they would have definitely been dead.

Desaray hurried over to the spot she heard the voice and began pulling the rubble up until she saw her father full of wounds. Her eyes watered up as she quickly helped him out.  “How are you? What is your Heath at?”

“I am fine. I only lost thirty health. Believe it or not, even though I am covered in blood, these are only flesh wounds.” Ricky replied as he sat down. He did not even know who to thank in this situation as it seemed that this world had no god, or else this would never have happened unless all of this was God’s will. But for the time being, he was just glad they both survived. He looked up at Desaray, who had a few wounds on her underbelly and sighed as he reached out and placed his big hand between her horns. “I am glad you survived.”

“I only survived thanks to you protecting me… Are you sure you are okay? Wait, what am I even doing!? First Aid!” Desaray had forgotten she had a kind of healing magic. A stream of green light flowed from her hand and covered her father. She then watched as the wounds on her father’s body began to heal up, only then did she let out a relieved sigh.

“Thanks. First aid, huh? I will take that too.” Ricky had not used his skill points since he did not know what to take. He had planned to ask his daughter, but now he knew one of the spells he should take.

“Oh, if you got points, make sure to tak….” Desaray explained the few spells she took, which Ricky went ahead and got as well.

When he was done, he had gotten the basics as well as a single attack spell, fireball. He wanted something ranged just in case. “I must say whatever that was made a mess….”

Now getting to look around, Desaray and Ricky were met with a wasteland. The city that once was looked as if an atomic bomb had gone off. The buildings had been leveled, some all the way to the ground, while others only had certain parts blown off. Smoke rose up to the sky, covering it with a gray haze. Desaray frowned as she looked around. She wondered if her backpack survived…

She began looking around to see some of their household things mixed in with other things lying around. “Dad, help me find my backpack…”

“Hmmm? We can just find another. I am sure no one would care if we stole one from a department store, if you can call it that now.” Ricky did not see why she wanted her backpack when it would probably be impossible to find.

“No, I need that backpack! It holds my treasures!” Desaray was starting to panic. Her dragon instincts were starting to take over. She began frantically rummaging through the debris as if she had gone crazy.

Ricky sighed and got up, and started helping her search. He did not know what treasures she was talking about, but it seemed to be very important to her to be acting like this.

The two began digging through the debris, and even an hour later, with no signs of ever finding it, Desaray was not willing to give up. Her small scaly body kept lifting the steel beams and concrete in hopes of finding her backpack. While Ricky wanted to question why she cared so much about this backpack, he still kept quiet. He was never one to push her to speak about things she did not want to speak about. Unless he knew it was a very serious matter.

After three hours, Desaray suddenly shouted out in happiness. “Found it!” Covered in dust and a little banged up, Desaray held her backpack in her arms as if it was the most precious thing in the world. She quickly opened it, only for her expression to turn gloomy again. Her phone had been smashed, and some of her other things were also broken. She sighed and zipped it back up before putting it back on her back.

“Desa? You good?” Ricky asked as he walked over and squatted down next to the little dragon.

“Mm… Some of my treasure is broken, but I will try to fix it when I can.” Desaray sighed before hugging her father and rubbing her snout on his chest. “Dad, let’s go find Becky and the others.”

Ricky patted her back and then lifted her up. He wondered how long it had been since he had carried his baby girl like this. He smiled as she hugged his neck. While she was no longer human, she was still his daughter and always will be. This was something that would never change, no matter what she turned into.

Desaray was still gloomy over her treasures being broken. While they were nothing more than a phone, some pencils and pens, along with some papers and books, she had instinctively taken these items as her treasures for one reason or another. She was currently running through her menu, trying to find something that could protect her treasures better since the backpack was unable to do that.

“I think whatever that wave of light was scared most of the monsters away or killed them altogether.” Ricky had noticed that he did not see any monsters around. But he could not be sure they would not reappear again like the monsters he was killed before.

“I doubt it. I think that golden yellow wave of light was just the beginning.”

If I were in their shoes, I'd try to get out of the city. Stuff's seems to be centered there so getting out might help keep them safe. But of course, that's just a hypothetical.

i think it might be better to go to the edges of the city cause they can find food in the city and monsters to level might take alot of grinding but it is very much so better than not knowing if you will have the food to survive to the next day there is also free shelter as well so againa plus but the water will prob be a problem due to it will shut off sooner or later
